Serhii Savelii is a Political and Legal Affairs Advisor at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) Ukraine.
Serhii Savelii is a Political and Legal Affairs Advisor at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) Ukraine. He is a legal expert with over eight years of experience in human rights, democracy, political finance, rule of law reform, the international legal framework, and constitutional and electoral legislation. At IFES, Mr. Savelli is responsible for legal drafting and in-depth research and analysis on good governance issues. He is a co-author of multiple IFES Ukraine research reports, including “Indelible Ink in Elections,” “Technical Assessment Report: Out-of-Country Voting in Ukraine,” “IFES Ukraine 2020 Local Elections Report,” and the article “The Risks of Rushing to Internet Voting in Ukraine,” published by the Atlantic Council.
Prior to his IFES work, Serhii worked for the nongovernmental organization Committee of Voters of Ukraine and interned for the Ombudsman Office in the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights. During his internship in the Ombudsman’s Office, Mr. Savelii focused on the rights of LGBTQI persons.
Serhii Savelii completed his LLM Degree with honors at Taras Shevchenko University. He participated in training events there as well as after his studies. He speaks four languages – Ukrainian, English, Russian, and French – and has German and Spanish language skills.
